This family is the heart of the Coconut. They live and work on-site and take care of nearly everything during your stay:

Think of them as your one-stop team. If you need anything — or even think you might — just ask.

🚿 Water, Ice & Drinking Safety

• Sink and shower water is clean, but not recommended for drinking or brushing teeth

• Reverse Osmosis (RO) water is available at the bar

• RO ice is provided and safe for consumption

• Blue bottled water is available throughout the hotel

Please drink as much water as you’d like — and let us know anytime if you need more.

🍌 Free bananas are available on site — help yourself.

🚽 Toilets & Beach Living (Important)

Please do not flush toilet paper or other items.

A little context:Canoa does not have a city sewer system. To protect the environment and keep everything functioning properly, we use the waste containers provided in each bathroom for toilet paper and bathroom waste.

Thank you for helping us take care of the land and the system.

🧹 Room Cleaning

Room cleaning is by request.

To request cleaning:

1. Please give your room key to a staff member

2. This lets the team know the room is empty and ready

Cleaning includes:

• General cleaning

• Trash removal

• Bathroom waste handling

  
  

👕 Laundry Service (Important)

For everyone’s safety and system care:

• Guests may not do laundry themselves

• Please give laundry to a staff member

• $5 per load

• Clean, folded laundry is typically returned within 24 hours

• Need it sooner? Just ask — rush service is often possible

♨️ Hot Tub Use

The hot tub requires several hours to heat.

If you’d like to use it in the evening, please let us know in the morning so we can turn it on in advance.

🧊 Refrigerators & Food Storage

• Courtesy fridge in the lobby — available for all guests

• The two front suites have refrigerators and freezers

• Need additional fridge or freezer space?→ Just ask — we’re happy to help

🍹 Bar & Bartender Information

The bar is strictly for commercial use.

• A bartender or family staff member will assist you

• Please do not help yourself to the bar

• Cameras are in place to keep everything clear and honest

👉 There is no extra charge for a bartender

We intentionally keep staff limited to protect your privacy and enjoyment. Additional team members can be added anytime upon request.

Guests are welcome to store personal drinks in designated guest fridges (not bar fridges).

🍽️ Food, Orders & Transportation

We make everything easy:

• We can place food orders and pick them up for you

• Or we can arrange a fleet of taxis for your group to go anywhere you’d like

• Restaurants, town, activities — just ask

🐾 Pets & Animals on Site (Important)

For transparency and safety, please note:

The Coconut has on-site security animals that live on the property. Because of this, we cannot guarantee the safety or comfort of visiting pets.

For everyone’s safety — including the animals — guest pets are not permitted on the property.

This policy exists to:

• Protect visiting animals

• Respect the working animals on site

• Avoid stressful or dangerous situations

⚠️ Activities & Personal Responsibility

We want you to fully enjoy your time at the Coconut — while also being clear and transparent.

All activities, whether on the property or arranged through the Coconut, involve inherent risks. This includes (but is not limited to):

• Swimming and ocean activities

• Surfing, paddle boarding, fishing

• Paragliding and other adventure sports

• Walking on uneven surfaces, beach terrain, or stairs

• Any off-property activities, tours, or transportation

By choosing to participate in any activity, guests do so voluntarily and at their own risk.

The Coconut, its owners, and staff are not responsible for injuries, accidents, loss, or damage to personal property that may occur during your stay or while participating in any activities.

We’re always happy to help coordinate experiences and share local knowledge — but ultimately, each guest is responsible for their own safety, decisions, and belongings.

If you have questions about conditions or suitability of any activity, please ask us before participating.
